Clipstone, which opened in July 2016, is a neighbourhood restaurant located on the corner of Clipstone Street in Fitzrovia. It opened just 18 months after sister restaurant Portland, a Michelin-starred restaurant based on Great Portland Street. The owners of these two restaurants, Nick and Will Lander, also own The Quality Chop House on which Advance has also completed work. Clipstone is a corner site with big windows which offer views of the kitchen and bar from outside. This was an existing operation that was rebranded and consequently, refurbished.


For Clipstone, Advance was challenged to create a kitchen solution which would fit into a tight space with equipment that is mobile and reliable. This was important because due to the limited space available in the kitchen, the client would need to have equipment that could easily be moved around. By supplying reliable equipment that is easy to maintain, kitchen downtime would be reduced for the client.


As a result, Advance installed an Angelo Po cook line that is highly reliable and would allow maintenance to be an easy process. Angelo Po cook lines are ergonomic, efficient and effective, therefore fitting perfectly with Clipstone’s specifications. Additionally, the company installed a coal robata grill. The food produced on this has its own dedicated section on the menu, as this specific grill allows them to cook a variety of speciality dishes.
